Since opening its doors in 1991, Atlantic Center at Harris House has become recognized as a place that fosters creative and intellectual experiences for children, artists and all members of the community.

Created in response to the needs of the local community, Atlantic Center at Harris House contributes to cultural growth and enrichment through Children’s Art Programs (CAP), a gallery featuring the artwork of Florida artists, and educational programs including adult classes and a lecture series. Its ArtScene projects are a model of cooperation between the arts, the City of New Smyrna Beach, and the Southeast Volusia Chamber of Commerce, providing an outlet for children's artwork through beautification and community redevelopment projects. These include a mosaic sculpture at the North Causeway boat ramp, the painted tiles on the ends of the benches on Flagler Avenue, and the colorful sculptures, murals, and paintings positioned throughout our town displaying the artwork of children.
