New Smyrna Museum of History

The New Smyrna Museum of History, part of the Southeast Volusia Historical Society, is located in the historic Old Post Office Building at in the historic district off Canal Street.

The focal point of the museum is an exhibit devoted to the founders of New Smyrna, an intrepid group of indentured Mediterranean colonists, under the leadership of Scottish physican and diplomat, Andrew Turnbull.

DIRECTIONS: From I-95, take SR 44 E. to Canal Street (Bus. 44). Go East on Canal Street across the railroad tracks and across U.S. Highway 1 into downtown New Smyrna Beach. Turn North onto Sams Avenue and go 1/2 block.

HOURS: Tuesday - Saturday 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

GROUP TOUR: Advanced reservations required.

MEETING ROOM: Community meeting room available to non-profit groups for meetings. Scheduling for the use of this room must be arranged through the Museum.
